Caviar Riofrío

Caviar Riofrío is one of Europe’s leading sturgeon aquaculture producers, renowned for its Acipenser naccarii caviar, a variety native to the Mediterranean region, particularly the Guadalquivir River. Known as the world’s first organic caviar, the brand takes its name from the small village of Riofrío in Loja, Granada. Their sturgeons are raised in some of the purest waters in Spain.
The aim of this project was to create a photographic archive that captures the essence of Riofrío’s rebranding, reflecting the gastronomic luxury and exquisite quality of its caviar in a way that feels distinctive and unique. The images were designed to project exclusivity, align closely with the brand’s identity, and move away from the generic visuals typically associated with the industry. By employing colors and backgrounds that harmonize with Riofrío’s visual identity, the photographs offer a fresh perspective, highlighting the authenticity and distinctive character of the brand.
The concept, “Naturalmente Riofrío, Naturalmente Sublime” (“Naturally Riofrío, Naturally Sublime”), draws inspiration from water as its central element, evoking the purity and natural flow of the rivers where the sturgeons are raised. Using lighting that mimics the shimmer and undulations of water, props that recreate fluid textures, and compositions that make the caviar appear to emerge from an aquatic environment, the images communicate the freshness and exclusivity of the world’s first organic caviar.
In terms of art direction, we collaborated with a glassblower to craft unique, custom props that mimic water droplets and river textures. These bespoke pieces added an artisanal and visually striking element to the shoot. The combination of these glass forms with lighting techniques that emphasize aquatic reflections and soft shadows created an atmosphere of natural elegance, perfectly aligned with Riofrío’s luxurious and eco-conscious identity.
