Fundación Pachamama
Fundación Pachamama contributes to the Sumak Kawsay (Good Living) of the Ecuadorian and Peruvian Amazon, promoting the conservation of the Amazon rainforest through alternative models that strengthen climate justice and the self-determination of indigenous nationalities and peoples. The organization supports Amazonian indigenous nationalities in their efforts to demand collective rights, aiming to achieve recognition of their culture and the protection of their territories.
The purpose of this project was to photograph two of Fundación Pachamama’s programs: Forest Economies and Pachamama Journeys. The former focuses on promoting bio-enterprises in the Amazon, emphasizing the sustainable use of biodiversity and the creation of viable economic solutions for community well-being. The photographs capture the region’s biodiversity and the positive impact of these initiatives on local communities, resulting in a series that documents the program’s essence and its contributions to sustainable development.
Additionally, Kapawi Ecolodge is part of the Pachamama Journeys program, which seeks to promote eco-tourism and community-based alternatives centered on conserving the Amazon rainforest. The images aim to capture the essence of the Ecolodge and the daily life of the Achuar community, highlighting the profound connection between their culture and the natural world.
