Faire Collection
Designed in New York and brought to life by skilled fair-trade artisans, Faire Collection offers a modern interpretation of artisanal craftsmanship. The brand is committed to the principles of fair trade, creating beautiful products while improving the lives of artisans. Faire Collection ensures fair wages, grants, and comprehensive employee benefits, providing pathways out of poverty. The jewelry collections are handcrafted in Otavalo, Ecuador, and Hanoi, Vietnam. This commitment to fair trade is integral to the brand’s ethos, with a focus on reinvesting in artisan partner communities to help break the cycle of poverty. The objective of this photoshoot was to document the transformation of tagua seeds from their raw state to finished, handcrafted jewelry in Otavalo. The goal was to capture the intricate craftsmanship involved in shaping the seeds, while also showcasing the environment and the women artisans who create these pieces. The series highlights both the artistic and cultural significance of the tagua jewelry-making process, offering a visual narrative that reflects the community and the sustainable practices behind this craft.
